Northfield Hosts Summit Country Fair

This Saturday evening, Northfield Park hosts the 2016 Summit County Fair Stakes. Buckeye-bred youngsters will compete for approximately $115,000 in total purses over 16 races on the evening card.

Off the track, guests can enjoy the tasty creations of B&M BBQ, Ye Olde School Treats N’Eats and Crooked Kettle Popcorn while listening to the R&B/Motown sounds of “The Benjaminz” on the apron from 6 – 10 p.m. Also located trackside is a host of family type activities including face painting, balloon twisting and a make-it-take it horseshoe craft. Be sure to capture a selfie with a Standardbred at the New Vocations booth as well.

Stop by the WZAK 93.1 FM booth from 6 – 8, to visit with Haz Matthews and try your luck at winning some great prizes. Plus, grab yourself a new Northfield Park t-shirt as the winning drivers in Races 1-12 will be tossing t-shirts into the crowd from the winner’s circle.

Northfield Park Player’s Club members can participate in the $1,000 Summit County Fair Handicapping Contest. The contest is FREE to enter and offers a top prize of $500. Contest registration begins at 5:00 p.m. If you are not a Player’s Club member you can sign up that day.

Lady Luck’s Clubhouse will be open and offering a special Fair buffet for $14.95. The menu includes beef on a stick, fried chicken, sausage & peppers, meatball sliders, corn dogs, sides, a salad bar and a dessert bar. Northfield opens for full-card simulcasting beginning at 12 noon with over 40 tracks including Saratoga’s world-class thoroughbred meet prior to the Fair action at 6 p.m.
