Governor’s Plate Carried World Wide On Bell-Aliant Race Day Show

The 42nd running of the Governor’s Plate will make history on Saturday night when the signature event from Red Shores at Summerside will be broadcast on the Bell-Aliant Race Day Show.

The action packed card will feature 16 dashes with a first race post time at 6:30pm. The broadcast, presented by the City of Summerside and Journal Pioneer, hosted by Lee Drake, Vance Cameron and Peter MacPhee will go to air at 6:15pm. Customers can watch and wager on Plate 42 from Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The City of Summerside made an adjustment to the announcement surrounding the Governor’s Plate. The City will offer $1,000 to the winning horse of the Governor’s Plate who breaks the track record of 1:54 set by Exclusives in 2006. If the winning horse in the Governor’s Plate records a winning mile of 1:53 flat they will receive $10,000 dollars.
