John MacLeod Passes

Longtime harness racing industry participant John MacLeod of Hamilton, Ont. passed away suddenly on July 10, 2012.

Originally from Cape Breton, N.S., MacLeod owned horses for more than 20 years also worked for various trainers as a groom.

Leaving behind to mourn are the mothers of his six children Shannon (Kelly), Jolene (Ryan), Carrie, Stewart (Sandra) Shelley, Donna (Andy). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John will be missed by his sister Jessie (Neil) of Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his sister Chris.

The family will receive friends at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Ave., Stoney Creek on Sunday, July 15 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
