Officials with Harness Racing BC have announced that additional race dates will take place this fall at Fraser Downs, and that purses will be increased by 10 per cent.
After negotiations with Fraser Downs’ operator Great Canadian Gaming over lost race days from this past January and February, four race dates will be added to Fraser’s fall meet.
The race dates will take place in October and will be added to Fraser’s fall meet. The four cards of live racing will take place on Tuesday evenings (October 3, 17, 24 and 31). Those dates are in addition to the existing Thursday and Friday dates that Fraser already had scheduled.
Officials with HRBC also wanted to remind horsepeople that there will also be a 10 per cent purse increase and the $750 horse population incentive for racing in October and staying through until at least January 2018.
