A 12-dash card of harness racing is all set to go Saturday, June 30 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

First-race post time is 6:00 p.m. (the entries can be found here).

Newcomer Aled Hanover headlines the Race 11 feature. The five-year-old son of Western Hanover is coming off an impressive 1:55:4 win in his last start. He's owned by Ronald Hall, of Wallace, Nova Scotia and trained by Dale Sobey.

Nine pacers will take to the track in Race 11 and Aled Hanover has drawn Post 8 for driver Alex Sobey. The talented duo are looking for back to back wins, but will face some tough customers including JK Special who has landed on the rail for regular pilot Walter Cheverie.

JK Special has four wins and 10 top-three finishes from 11 starts for owner, trainer Joe Smallwood of Stratford.

This competitive field also includes BJ Cruiser (PP2), General Luckypercy (PP3), Blue Star Outlaw (PP4), Outlawpositivcharg (PP5), Windemere Express (PP6), Rambaranonbroadway (PP7) and Eagle Luck (PP9).

The Open Trotters will line up in Race 3 and Caliban Hanover will be looking for a return visit to the winner's circle.

The seven-year-old son of Andover Hall gave veteran driver Ron Gass career win 1,300 last week. It was a special victory for Gass who celebrated the accomplishment with good friend and owner Wendell MacDonald of Cornwall.

If Caliban Hanover wants his picture taken again he'll have to deny a strong group that includes Dumore Alpha, Napanee Seelster, Warrawee Jade, Julaire, Latorraca, Saulsbrook Balance, Flashy Image and Diamond Mine.

Red Shores Summerside

The live harness racing action continues on Sunday at Red Shores Summerside with 15 dashes on tap and 1:00 p.m. first-race post time.

The Canada Day program will feature the Callbeck Stakes for two-year-olds, while the Maple Leaf Trot will star three-year-old trotters in two divisions.

Daisy Lane Daisy is listed as the morning-line favourite in the first Maple Leaf trot spilt for driver Mark Cullen and trainer Blayne White. White, who is from Belle River, also owns the daughter of Northern Bailey who makes her third start of her early campaign. Another Northern Bailey colt, Buddy Moko, owned by Roddy Maclean and David MacPhail of Cornwall, is favoured in the second Maple Leaf Trot event. Ron Gass will do the driving.

The future stars of racing will take to the track in the Callbeck Stakes.

Red Shores will also launch a brand new on-track promotion with the $100,000 Dash for Cash. Customers will get complete details on site and from members of the broadcast team. One lucky customer will be chosen to list the complete order of finish on a select race and if successful will win $100,000.
