Kristen Coyne and Kelly Finnigan have been named 2010-2011 scholarship winners by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey (SBOANJ)

Coyne, who also was a recipient in 2009, will receive $5,000 while Finnigan, whose brother, Gary Jr., was a previous winner, was awarded $2,500.
Coyne, the daughter of trainer Ronald and Regina Coyne of New Egypt, New Jersey, is attending Rowan University –- Class of 2013 -- studying history and education, with a concentration in special education.
Finnigan, daughter of trainer Gary and Mary Finnigan of Wall, New Jersey, is a Dean’s List graduate from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. She will be continuing her studies next year at the University of Central Florida. She plans to study molecular biology with hopes of pursuing a career in research or medicine.
The SBOANJ Scholarship Committee evaluated applications based on academic standing, community service, financial need as well as eligibility.
The scholarship winners will be presented their checks in the winner’s circle at the Meadowlands this summer.
