Colonel Schneider Sr. Passes

Trot Insider has learned that Standardbred racehorse owner Colonel Schneider Sr. of Arthur, Ont. has passed away at the age of 80.

Colonel was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Bossence) Schneider (1997). Dear father of Brenda McNabb-Schneider and Dave McNabb of Shallow Lake, Linda Schneider-Bott and Kelvin Bott of Alma, Colonel Jr. and Kim of Arthur. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Chase and Brittany McNabb, Chantelle and Desiree Bott, and Cassidy Schneider. Colonel is fondly remembered by his friend Doris “Peggy” McMillan. Also remembered by Bonnie and Steve Davis and family. Brother of Betty Bossence of Arthur and brother-in-law of Brian Hack of Guelph. Predeceased by his parents Andy and Jean (Halls) Schneider, sister Shirley Hack, and brother-in-law Lloyd Bossence.

Arrangements will be taken care of by Dreisinger Funeral Home, which is located at 62 Arthur St. S. in Elmira, Ont. (N3B 2M9). Viewings have been scheduled for this Wednesday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 1 p.m.

My sincere condolences to the family. He always had a smile on his face back in the day at Elmira and Orangeville and was always willing to help out whatever way he could if you needed a favour. A true gentleman. Rest in peace Colonel.
