Don Schmiedge Passes

Trot Insider has learned that Don Schmiedge of Davidson, Sask. passed away on Monday, June 11 at the age of 74.

Don and his brother, Gary, carried the farm name Shyloh Acres. Horses with names bearing ‘Shyloh’ or ‘Shylark’ raced throughout western Canada and into the United States.

Don’s son, Chad, went on to train horses in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and also on the Woodbine Entertainment circuit.

Trot Insider has yet to be informed about details surrounding arrangements, but will convey that information if/when it is received.
