Have you always wanted to get an insider’s look at what goes on behind the scenes of horse racing? Ever wondered how the photo finish camera works or how the track announcer memorizes all of those horse names? Well, here’s your chance to get some insight into what goes on behind the scenes on race day.
The 'I Love Canadian Harness Racing' Fan Club is offering a backstage pass program at some of the major events on this summer’s racing calendar. The backstage pass features an escorted one-hour guided tour, Behind The Scenes, and is available to a limited number of Fan Club members.
The program launches this Saturday with the Ellamony Stakes at Flamboro Downs.
The tour features a trip to the TV room, judges stand and announcer’s booth. There will also be a trackside photo with some of the drivers racing that day. There is no cost, but donations to the Breast Assessment Centre at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre are appreciated.
The Ellamony Classic is a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Assessment Centre at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre. It features live entertainment, sampling stations, a penny sale, silent auction and 50/50 draw. There will also be a special appearance by Matt Dusk.
