Tanned, rested and ready, Yonkers Raceway returns Friday, June 16 with a dozen races and the usual first post of 7:10 p.m.
Friday’s card features the $55,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap Pace, going as the eighth race, with local newbie Beyonces Rockn (Jason Bartlett) remanded outside of her seven rivals. The double-draw also found 12 races for Saturday night (June 17th), led the equally-parsed Open Handicap Pace (8th race) for the gentlemen, where a pair of Levy Series winners—Bit Of A Legend N (Jordan Stratton, post 5) and Keystone Velocity (Dan Dube, post 6)—start as neighbours.
A reminder of some scheduling notes for the balance of June and through July. Live racing goes every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 p.m. (Thursdays return in August) and there is no live racing Monday and Tuesday, July 3rd and 4th. As always, evening simulcasting accompanies all night time programs.
Sunday matinees return this weekend (June 18th, first post 12:30 p.m.), with the first four races of the ‘French trot’ sort (overflow fields at the mile-and-a-quarter-distance).
The remaining Sundays (July 2nd, 16th, 23rd & 30th) over the next few weeks all have the popular post time of TBA (updates when available).
The ‘New York, New York Double’ returns this Sunday, tentatively including Belmont’s 3rd race (post time 2:32 p.m.) and Yonkers’ 7th race (post time 3 p.m.). Program pages for this wager shall be sent when they’re done.
