Trot Insider has learned that Twin B Playboy, a former OSS star, was humanely destroyed earlier today at the age of 27 due to complications of old age
.
"The Playboy" earned his lifetime mark of 1:53.2 at Greenwood Racetrack during his six-year-old campaign. He banked just shy of $800,000 and retired with 42 wins from 153 starts.
The son of Armbro Omaha-J Ds Happy was owned by the Blueliner Stable – the nom de racecourse of partners Frank Milne and Garry Lariviere. He was bred by Twin B Stables Ltd. of Embro, ON.
Since his retirement, Twin B Playboy had been lovingly cared for by Tracy Milne at her farm in Ridgeville, Ontario.
Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Twin B Playboy.

In Memory of Twin B Playboy
I never met a horse like him..he did everything right. I think he loved life, as is evident in how he lived his life as a horse..
When he raced he was the best..
In the beginning, his name was Twin B Playboy, better known as "The Big Horse", who thrilled audiences with his "come from behind" wins, to earn him the title of "Richest Pacing Colt" in his day. The home stretch would rumble as he thundered past the field, grinding them down to the wire. I can recall Ken Warkentin's call.."and it's The Playboy, picken' 'em up, puttin' 'em down, leadin' by 4 and lookin' for more!"
What memories!
He had the biggest chest, Dad said ,to accomodate his big heart.
His coat shone like polished leather..he really was a magnificent looking horse.
He took over our farm around '95 and was re-named Doofus, just to put him in his place..within 1 hour, he bit me, just to put me in my place.
Our fat pony climbed thru the fence one day to join him and they shared that field from then on, a big dark stud and a small grey gelding. We called them Jake and the Fat Man, and later Grumpy Old Men.
He took watch over the front gate and when people came to visit they were in awe of his size and gentle manner. I wont forget the sound of his huge pie plate feet rumbling out to the field, or how bugs didn't bother him, if they did, he never showed it.
He loved his water fresh from the hose, and always rolled in new bedding to show us how much he liked it.
I loved his big droopy lips which gave him a comical look even though he thought he was so cool.
We took great pride in him and I dont think we'll ever meet such a proud character again.
What an honor to have known him.
He was a kind gentleman, and , to his last day, he did everything right.
His herd are standing very quietly today...
We'll miss you, Doofy
