The Standardbred Owners Association of New York is pleased to announce that the application and rules for the 2020/21 SOA of NY John R. Brennan/MGM Yonkers Scholarship are now available.
The scholarship awards a $5,000 first prize, $3,000 second prize and $2,000 third prize. The application deadline is May 31, 2020.
The scholarship applicant or his/her immediate family member must be a 2020 SOA of NY member in good standing. Or the applicant can be an immediate family member of a backstretch employee (caretaker) covered by the SOA Welfare Plan. 'Immediate family' means spouse or child. Either the applicant or their parents must have participated at Yonkers Raceway in the last 12 months as an owner, trainer, driver or caretaker.
