Trot Insider has learned that on Saturday, May 1, prominent Quebec horse owner Michel Flanagan of Repentigny passed away at his residence after a four-month bout with
cancer.
Flanagan, 65, was one of the province's major standardbred owners, and supported the provincial breeding program heavily, as he purchased a good deal of yearlings.
"He was one of the biggest and most well-known owners in the province, that's for sure," trainer Pierre Touchette told Trot Insider. "We had a really good 10-year run together."
Visitation and a tribute to the life of Flanagan will be taking place on Saturday, May 8 at Magnus Poirier, 6825 Sherbrooke Street East, Montreal (514-727-2847). Visitation will be taking place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The tribute will take place at 8:30 p.m.
Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Michel Flanagan.
