ORC Rules On Manneke & Rouleau Appeals

The Ontario Racing Commission has released the following rulings SB 010/2009 in the matter of Patrick Rouleau and SB 011/2009 in the matter of Gerald Manneke

.

The following is the ruling in regards to the Appeal of Rouleau.

Upon considering the Agreed Statement of Facts, hearing the testimony of Judge Rick Rier and Rouleau, reviewing the exhibits filed, and upon hearing the closing submissions, the Panel denied the appeal as follows:
i) fine of $300 for violating SB Rule No. 22.22 is to be reinstated; and
ii) fined an additional $100 for a frivolous appeal.

The following is the ruling in regards to the Appeal of Manneke, who failed to attend.

Upon hearing the submissions, the Panel dismissed the appeal as follows:
i) As abandoned without prejudice;
ii) Mannekke be served personally with the Ruling;
iii) The right to resurrect the appeal will be confined to the 30 days following personal service;
iv) If no appeal is launched within that time, the Director’s Notice of Proposed Order is hereby confirmed.

I am glad to see that there are people actively interested in preserving the integrity of racing in all its forms. Whether it be the "little guy" or the "big" guy....It all comes out in the wash.....Good job!!!!! Bravo!!!!
