Meadowlands Racetrack has received a strong response to its new Summer Survivor Series for three-year-old pacers, which will begin on Thursday, June 2
.
A total of 63 horses were entered in the four-week series for non-winners of two pari-mutuel races or $25,000 in lifetime earnings.
The Summer Survivor consists of two preliminary brackets and a semi-final round which will narrow the competition for an estimated $100,000 final on July 2.
"We are very pleased with the response to this series," said Meadowlands Racing Secretary Peter Koch. "The horsemen have supported the new format in a very big way."
