On Wednesday, May 15, Woodbine Entertainment issued a statement from Bill Ford, General Counsel & Executive Vice President, Racing at Woodbine Entertainment, encouraging Woodbine and Mohawk Park owners, breeders and trainers to participate in the survey.
"As you may know, the OLG currently has a confidential Horse Racing Post Pandemic Economic Impact Survey open and is requesting that owners, breeders and trainers complete the survey. The survey and its results are of critical importance to our industry today, and for the future," said Ford in the statement.
"The data and results (which are only used in aggregate, individual data is strictly confidential) captured by this survey are extremely useful in informing government officials, government agencies, and other stakeholders how many jobs our industry supports, how much it contributes to the provincial economy through taxes, and how much it contributes to the GDP. The results of the survey are an essential piece of information when examining support for the long-term sustainability of the industry.
"If you have not completed the confidential survey yet, please do so not only for your own benefit, but for the benefit of the tens of thousands of people in Ontario who are employed in the industry. The deadline to complete the survey is May 31."
