Trot Insider has learned long-time horseman R. Thane Mann, passed away at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, May 10. He was 83.
Born in Kensington on January 5, 1938, he was the son of the late Leslie A. and Bertha (Watts) Mann. Husband of Shirlene (Wall) Mann. Father of Greg (Barb) Mann, Gary (Janelle) Mann and Tracy (Calvin) MacLean. Grandfather of Emma, Kelsey and Hillary MacLean and Nick, Jared and Logan Mann. Brother-in-law of Doris Mann. Also survived by special nieces Bev, Darlene, Millie, Debbie and Lori. Predeceased by brother Ellsworth Mann and by sisters Pearl (Kenneth) Clark, Wanda (Earle) Dyment, Edna (Joseph) Harding and Marjorie (Malcolm) Milton.
Mann is resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. Due to COVID-19 restrictions no public visitation can be held. The private funeral service will be available to view online after 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
Interment in People’s Cemetery, Kensington. If so desired, contributions may be made to Kensington United Church or the Lung Association.
