With the 2018 racing season at Georgian Downs fast approaching, officials with Georgian Downs would like to share some important information and changes to the upcoming season.
Effective Friday, May 4, 2018 the track at Georgian Downs will open for training from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The training schedule will remain the same as 2017 with the track open for training each Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the duration of the harness racing season.
Qualifiers for 2018 will now be conducted on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. from May 26th through August 25th.
"We are very excited, gearing up Georgian Downs for another race season," said John Stolte, Georgian Downs General Manager. "It’s nice to showcase our racing facility in Innisfil. We take pride in the condition of our facility and racing surface.
"There is always a buzz around the live racing at Georgian Downs. In 2018 we will continue to host a number of Ontario Sires Stakes throughout the summer months, providing the race fans with some exceptional racing and entertainment."
Sunday, August 19 will be the track's showcase evening of 2018 as the track plays host to some of the best older trotters for the Hon. Earl Rowe Trot. This season, Georgian Downs will be including its very popular Family Day as part of the showcase event.
Post times for 2018 will remain the same, with Sunday cards starting at 6:00 p.m., while Tuesday and Saturday cards will commence at 7:15 p.m.
