Trot Insider has learned that longtime Standardbred horseman Ronald William ‘Ron’ Topping passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of Lynn Topping (nee England) of 60 years. Cherished dad of Lori (Byron Atchison), Julie, Tracy and Gary Topping. Treasured Grandpa to Jamie, Jeff, Sandra, Alicia, Matthew, Ryan, Joe and Mackenzie and great grandpa to William. Dear brother of Glen (Marie) Topping and Doris (John) Morris. Will also be missed by many other family and friends.
Ron was well known for Standardbred horse racing and breeding and dairy farming. He was given the lifetime achievement award for horse racing. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Friends are welcomed for visiting on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A private family service will take place with burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, London.
