Trot Insider has learned that horseman John Blaschuk, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away surrounded in love on Tuesday, April 20 at the age of 72
.
Blaschuk lived most of his life in the Vancouver area as a plumber, realtor and horseperson. He also enjoyed a lifelong interest in cars.
Predeceased by his mother Julia, father John and son Dale. Lovingly survived by wife Blanche, sons Michael (Leslie), David (Cheryl), Jason (Tanya), Jim (Taya) and grandchildren Jacquie, Alex, Cole, Kai and Noah, brother Walter, sisters Dorothy and Rosemarie and many relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby.
