Jerry Jamieson Passes

Jerry Jamieson, a standardbred owner from Blenheim, Ontario, died on Friday April 16th, 2010 at the age of 70 in Fox Harbour, Nova Scotia after a brief battle with cancer

. Jamieson was originally from Nova Scotia.

Jerry was a prominent owner in his cousin Carl Jamieson's stable, and was the co-owner of Distinctiv Skeeter who won the first ever Battle of Waterloo at Elmira Raceway in 1999 and ended his career with over $550,000 in earnings. He was also part owner of the tremendous Ontario Sires Stakes filly, Taylor Lynne, who won over $690,000 before she retired. Taylor Lynne's daughter Mother Hen raced for Jamieson in 2009 earning a record of 1:57 and earnings of over $35,000 in OSS races.

Jerry Jamieson is survived by his wife Frances and son Darren.

Visitation at Mundell's Funeral Home in Pugwash, NS on Sunday, April 18 from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will take place on Monday, April 19 at the Fox Harbour United Church in Fox Harbour, Nova Scotia.
