On the heels of neighbouring provinces cancelling race dates for May, officials with Horse Racing New Brunswick have announced the cancellation of race dates in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
HRNB’s Board of Directors will reassess the viability of racing in June at a later date. The Board is hopeful that all industry members are healthy and remain so.
“We are looking forward to our racing season getting underway when it is safe to do so as advised by the Government of New Brunswick,” Brock McEachern has been quoted as saying.
The original startup date was May 2, and that has now been pushed to June 6.
