The Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission has announced that effective immediately the requirement to have a current EHV vaccination, in order to race at tracks under the jurisdiction of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission, has been rescinded
.
After consultation with veterinarians, this action was taken and approved by the MPHRC at its meeting on March 8, 2011.
Although vaccinations are an important and essential part of equine health programs, they can vary depending on a number of factors.
Horse owners are encouraged to develop a personalized vaccination protocol for their horses through consultation with their veterinarian.
