Gary Charette Passes

Longtime harness racing participant Gary Charette passed peacefully at his home in Florida on Wednesday, February 29

. He was in his 64th year.

Gary worked with the horses for many years, he was the caretaker for World Champion Dragons Lair for the Jeff Mallet Stable. Another of his favorites was Brace Yourself, trained by the Jim Miller Stable. Until his retirement last year, Gary had worked 13 years at Walt Disney World.

Gary is survived by his wife Sheila, stepchildren Lydia and Jeffrey and his sisters Chris Reilly (Rick), Lynda Kline (Jack).

Gary had such passion for his horses and took great care of them. He was a very special person and will be miss greatly. My condolences to Sheila and his family.
