In a general overview of the recently-concluded Harness Tracks of America-Thoroughbred Racing Associations annual meeting, the HTA announced today that the sessions ended a six-year run of joint HTA-TRA meetings

.

HTA has announced that it will hold a second late-year meeting in 2010, in conjunction with the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program Symposium in Tucson in early December, rather than its traditional late February or early March gathering in 2011.

The recently-concluded meetings took place last week at the Hyatt Grand Champions in Indian Wells, California.

According to the overview, the meetings saw a lower than normal attendance, yet more provocative than normal presentations by speakers.

The meetings also saw the presentation of the 2010 Messenger Award to Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell.

Transcripts of the presentations will be distributed to all directors in coming weeks, along with minutes of the business and board of directors meetings.
