Woodbine Entertainment would like to issue a reminder to all owners and trainers of Friday’s (March 15) stakes payment deadline.
The first round of sustaining payments are due for all 2019 major stakes. Sustaining payments are also due Friday for the 2019 Champlain (foals of 2017), 2020 Simcoe (foals of 2017) and 2019 SBOA Filly Stakes (foals of 2016).

The Raceway at Western Fair District is pleased to announce the return of the City of London Series.
The City of London Series consists of four events, each for Ontario-sired four-year-olds and younger that were non-winners of $10,000 lifetime as of midnight February 28, 2019.
The eliminations will be contested on May 22 and May 24. All four finals will take place on the Camluck Classic undercard on Friday, May 31.

Nominations for the 2019 edition of the $200,000 Prix D’Ete (for four-year-old pacers) at the Hippodrome 3R must be made by Friday, March 15.
One of only a handful of opportunities restricted to just four-year-old pacers, the Prix D’Ete is the showcase stakes event of the season at the Hippodrome 3R and will take place on Sunday, August 18 in 2019.
Continued from 2018 in the conditions for the race is that horses that finish sixth through eighth will each get $1,000. Only the top eight money winners this season, up until time of entry, will be allowed in the race.
To make nomination payments, owner/trainers can go to standardbredcanada.ca or to quebecjockeyclub.com and get the necessary nomination forms.
Please note there are no supplemental payments allowed for the Prix D’Ete. This first nomination payment must be made to be eligible.
The Prix D’Ete, once the richest and most prestigious race in Canada, was revived by the Quebec Jockey Club back in 2013.

Nominations for the 2019 Yonkers Raceway/Standardbred Owners Association for New York Bonus Trotting Series close this Friday (March 15).
The series, which will begin on Tuesday, April 2, is open to three-year-olds and up who are/were non-winners of six pari-mutuel races or $100,000 through this past February 1. There’s the ‘carrot’ of a potential $10,000 bonus paid by the SOA, with details in the form.

Officials with Tioga Downs have issued a reminder to the industry that Tioga’s marquee stakes require payment due by March 15.
The Empire Breeders Classic for New York-bred sophomores has a three-year-old sustaining and two-year-old nominating payment.
The Grand Circuit stakes for older horses, Roll With Joe, Artiscape, Crawford Farms and Joie de Vie, require a March 15 nomination and April 15 sustaining payment.

Horsepeople should be aware that it is not too late to stake your horses to Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey-sponsored races and take advantage of the purse increases in New Jersey.
With the anticipated allocation of appropriation money from the state, the SBOANJ expects considerable purse increase for its events.
If you did not nominate your yearling, you have the opportunity to supplement your two-year-old to the following stakes: The Garden State Trot #2, the NJ Trotting Futurity #54 and the Home Grown Pace #2.
The supplemental payment for two-year-olds and sustaining payments for both two and three-year-olds are due March 15, 2019.

Owners of two-year-old pacers eligible to the New Jersey Sire Stakes Premier Division and/or the New Jersey Standardbred Development Fund are reminded that the sole sustaining payment for the Renaissance Pace, both Open and Filly Divisions, is due March 15.
The Renaissance races will be contested at Freehold Raceway in September with nominating fees of $700 for the Open Division and $400 for the Filly Division due March 15.

Nominations for the $1 million Ohio State Fair Stakes must be postmarked by March 15, 2019.
Held at Scioto Downs, the early-closing event is for Ohio-sired two- and three-year-olds and will be raced over three days (August 1-3).
Scioto Downs will kick off the 2019 racing season on Tuesday, May 7. The 90-day race meet will conclude on Saturday, September 7, featuring the Jim Ewart Memorial and the Charlie Hill Memorial. The nomination fees for the Ewart and Hill Memorials are due on June 15, 2019.
Scioto will race on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (EDT).

A $100 sustaining payment is due for DSBF-eligible two-year-olds who made the May 15, 2018 nomination payment of $40.
A two-year-old who was not nominated can pay a supplement fee of $350 along with the March 15 $100 sustaining fee and a copy of the USTA registration papers. If papers are held electronically a ‘Basic Horse’ report from the USTA’s Pathway will suffice.
It is strongly suggested to use mail with a tracking number, UPS, or Federal Express. All payments must be postmarked by March 15. Second sustaining payments are due by May 15 in the amount of $200.

Currently there are more than 725 eligibles from 14 states and Canada, many of which changed ownership at last fall’s yearling sales. Two-year-old sustaining payments for the 75th edition of the Little Brown Jug, the 50th Jugette, the 68th Old Oaken Bucket (three-year-old open trot) and the 69th Buckette (three-year-old filly trot) are due March 15. These payments are for foals of 2017 and will be raced in 2020.
Two-year-olds not nominated in the May 15, 2018 yearling payment may be made eligible thruough a supplemental nomination fee of $400 due on or before the March 15, 2019 payment. This supplemental payment is in addition to the normal March 15 payment.
Sustaining payments are also due for the 80th Standardbred two-year-old colt and filly stakes for foals of 2017 to be raced in 2019.
The $965,000 (est.) Ohio Breeders Championships require a single $300 nomination payment due March 15, 2019 with no further sustaining payments required.
Returning to the 2019 Delaware County Fair race schedule are $15,000 legs of the Buckeye Stallion Series. To nominate to the BSS, a $250 nomination fee is due with no further sustaining payments required.
The Delaware County Fair is once again pleased to be a part of the Ohio Fair Racing Conference in 2019. The OFRC events require either a $75 nomination fee for just the Delaware County Fair or $330 for all the OFRC events. Nominations for the BSS and ORFC events must be postmarked by March 15, 2019 and sent directly to the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association, 2237 Sonora Drive, Grove City, OH 43123.
The five-day Delaware Grand Circuit meet opens Sunday, Sept. 15 and will run through Thursday, Sept. 19.
