Longtime harness racing participant Brian Gerald Dunbar of Palmerston, Ont. passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, Feb. 3. He was in his 66th year.
Beloved husband of Dorothy (Wickie) for 32 years. Dear father of Julie and Kevin Casserly of Moorefield, and Brent and Christie Dunbar of Harriston. Grandfather of Khylah, Brantley, Madilyn and Wesley. Brother of Shirley and Gerald Miller of Waterloo, Diane and Werner Mikoleit of London, Bruce and Ginny Dunbar of Listowel, Bob and Susan Dunbar of Waterloo, Bill and Cindy Dunbar of Waterloo and Paul and Luanne Dunbar of Linwood. Son-in-law of Don and Dianne Wickie of Cambridge. Brother-in-law of Hope and Glenn McGregor of Clinton, Tammy and Gerald Loker of Cambridge, and Mary and Paul Kaytar of Cambridge. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Betty (Phillip) Dunbar.
Brian was an active member of the Ontario Standardbred racing community for more than 45 years.
To honour Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held In the Frank Lambier Legion Branch 409, Palmerston on Wednesday, Feb. 9, from 1-4 p.m. Please visit the book a visitation time with the funeral home online at heritagefuneralhomes.ca or by calling 519-343-3800 to reserve a time to attend the visitation or the celebration of life. Jack and I are so sorry to here of Brian's sudden and unexpected passing. Our world will be changed forever, we will not see his smiling face or be able to catch up with him at the racetrack anymore. Brian worked for us way back when and since then he has operated his own successful stable ever since. He will be missed by many. Our condolences go out to his entire family, immediate and extended . God bless the Dunbar family and help them through these unbearable times. it is at times like these that we need our faith, friends and family and I think Brian had all of them. XOXOXO
