Handicappers may have found it difficult to come up with the 7-1 upsetter, Hartattack, to kick off Tuesday night’s Pick 4 sequence at Pompano Park. Although, as it turned out, that would be the easiest leg to come up with, as he was followed by a 10-1, 24-1, and 29-1 horses to round out the Pick 4 sequence.
The string of upsets resulted in no winning tickets, leaving a record $17,032 carryover into the track’s Wednesday (February 10) night pool.
Track officials have placed an instant guarantee of $50,000 on Wednesday night’s total pool. Pompano’s Pick 4 covers Races 6 – 9, and features a 50-cent minimum and reduced takeout of only 12 per cent.
Wednesday will also offer a Jackpot Hi-Five carryover of $96,185 into the tenth race finale.
Live racing continues at Pompano on a five-night-per-week schedule, with first post of 7:30 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening.
