Longtime horseman and caretaker Nigel MacCharles of Guelph, Ont. passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 63.

Nigel worked most of his life with horses and worked with such trainers as Lloyd Gilmour and Dave Green.

Every horse no matter what caliber always received his full attention and was treated like they were the best. Nigel was a friend to every horse.

His family wishes to thank Guelph General Hospital for his care, and any support to the hospital would be appreciated.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Nigel MacCharles.
