Niele Jiwan Passes

Trot Insider has learned that prominent standardbred owner Niele Jiwan passed away on the morning of Friday, December 25. He was 48

.

Jiwan, whose family moved to Canada in 1971 from Africa, owned a few horses when he was younger but it wasn’t until 2003 that he got back into the business thanks to his successful realty endeavors.

The resident of Burnaby, B.C. raced horses in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and New York including O'Brien Award winner Chancey Lady, BC Breeders Classic champion Garden Gate Tina and open pacer Duca.
