The harness racing community continues to come together in support for the victims of the Cape Breton barn fire earlier this month with members of the Atlantic provinces joining to raise funds through a charity auction at the end of the month.
Organized by Kaitlyn Wesley, the auction will begin on Thursday (Dec. 30) at 6 a.m. (AST) and run through Friday (Dec. 31) at 9 p.m. The auction includes 17 stallion breeding shares, an infoal broodmare, and other items set to sell and raise funds for the horsepeople of the Cape Breton fire.
"I have put a stallion auction together alongside the GoFundMe page for the barn fire victims in Cape Breton,” Wesley told Trot Insider. “I hope these fundraisers together bring enough money to help both men get on their feet again. We are an industry that stands together and it sure is proven through this. No matter if you're from a big track or a small track, you're a family member."
Information on the items selling at auction is available on Facebook. Bidding for the auction will also take place on Facebook.
