Horse Racing Innovation Summit

Limited space is available to participate in the Horse Racing Innovation Summit, set for Monday, December 16, 2013 at Flamboro Downs and co-sponsored by the Ontario Racing Commission and the Ontario Ministries of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affairs.

Effective April 1, 2014 the Ontario horse racing industry will rely on three main sources of revenue - money earned from the marketplace, the new Horse Racing Partnership Plan funding and lease revenues from co-located Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) gaming sites.

The future health of the industry will increasingly depend on marketplace success. Collectively, we need to develop strategies to optimize and grow market revenues. The OLG is a powerful ally, working collaboratively to help stabilize and grow the racing industry.

The Innovation Summit will focus on exchanging ideas on what the Ontario racing industry can do in the next few years to better understand the racing customer, grow revenues, attract fans and decrease costs. You are encouraged to contribute ideas of your own by completing and submitting an IDEA template; all ideas received by December 13, 2013 will be summarized and shared with all Summit participants. Participation in the Summit will be particularly beneficial to racetrack operators developing long term business plans as required to access operational funding through the new Horse Racing Partnership Funding Program. The Summit will also help identify those interested in further developing innovative marketing ideas into business cases and pilot projects that ultimately can benefit the entire industry.

Registration for the Summit is required as lunch will be provided. Please contact the Agricultural Information Contact Centre at 1-877-424-1300 or via email to: [email protected] to reserve your spot and to identify any dietary restrictions or allergies.

The agenda for the Summit is as follows:
