Larry Johnson Passes

In loving memory of Larry Johnson

Longtime harness racing industry participant Larry Johnson of London, Ont. passed suddenly on Nov. 1, 2025 surrounded by family at the age of 64.

Born in London on Jan. 30, 1961 in London, Larry was an active member of the harness racing community for many years prior to his stroke in 2017. He was a passionate sports fan cheering on the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Larry was a devoted husband to Betty and a loving father to Matthew (Regan), stepfather to Rob (Jessica), Lori, Brian (Tawny), grandfather to Rose, Hannah, Emerson, Hudson, Mason, and Ariel. He was predeceased by his parents Alvin (2016) and Ruby (2015). Larry will be deeply mourned by his siblings Deborah, Brad (Lynda), and Lisa (Jeff). Nieces and nephews Jason, Steven (Diane), Cory (Heather), Shaina (Taylor), and Clarissa (Jeff).

The family offers its heartfelt thanks to all the PSWs that took great care of Larry over the last eight years.

Cremation has already taken place, there will be a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025 from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Eastern Star Temple, 800 Fanshawe Park Rd E, London, Ont. N5X 1L5. Light refreshments will be served. Please feel free to honour Larry by wearing any of his sports teams’ attire.
