Surrounded by family, longtime horseman Albert 'Al' Lamontagne of Holland, Manitoba passed away on November 6, 2015 at the age of 87.

Al was predeceased by his wife Gertie in January after 62 ½ years of marriage. Together, they spent most of their lives racing harness horses across Western Canada. This was their passion, but his greatest joy in life was his family and he had a special place in his heart for the little ones.

He leaves to mourn his children Ron (Suzanne), Linda Fontaine (Rolly), Roger (Kelly), and Diane Payette (Charlie); 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, as well as brother Art (Bert) and sister Alma. He was predeceased by his parents Aimé and Blanche Lamontagne and brothers Roland and Leo.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Al's favourite colour was red, and the family encourages everyone to wear something red in his memory.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the family and friends of Albert Lamontagne.
