Driver's Lawsuit Against Track To Begin

A negligence lawsuit filed on behalf of a paralyzed harness driver against a major Standardbred racing operator is scheduled to get underway in court this week.

The family of former Standardbred reinsman Anthony Coletta filed the lawsuit after he was involved in a very serious accident at Harrah’s Philadelphia in November of 2013.

Coletta, who suffered permanent brain damage from the accident and requires around-the-clock care, was also left paralyzed.

According to an article by whyy.org, the lawsuit is claiming that track operators were negligent in terms of not addressing complaints about the racing surface being dangerous.
