The Prince Edward Island harness racing community lost a life-long member with the passing of Garth Schurman of Summerside, PEI on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the age of 64.
Schurman was battling cancer for the past 23 years and was a dialysis patient for the past seven years.
Schurman developed the great Maritime trotting mare Bus Stop, who held the track trotting record at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John, New Brunswick when she was campaigned there by the late Boyd Tremere.
