At its meeting on October 25, 2011, the board of the Ontario Racing Commission considered a proposed rule change affecting the Rules of Racing in Ontario. Prior to approving directives for change, the ORC is seeking public input on the proposal
.
To be considered, comments or submissions on the proposed changes must be received by December 2, 2011, by mail, fax or email at [email protected].
The proposed rule change would require the licensing of any horseperson's organization, where that organization has entered into contract with a racetrack. This new requirement is a result of new Canadian Pari-Mutuel Association rules coming into effect January 1, requiring racetrack operators to have contracts with organizations approved by the provincial commission.
