The Grand Circuit's weekly overview highlights its upcoming races at The Red Mile and Plainridge Park.
This Week: Red Mile Grand Circuit, The Red Mile, Lexington, Ky. and the Colonial Oaks and Reynolds Memorial, Plainridge Park, Plainville, Mass.
Schedule of Events: The second week of Grand Circuit action at The Red Mile kicks off on Friday (Oct. 4) with four divisions in the $320,000 USD International Stallion Stake for two-year-old colt trotters and three divisions in the $245,800 USD International Stallion Stake for two-year-old filly pacers.
On Saturday (Oct. 5), The Red Mile will host five divisions in the $342,000 USD International Stallion Stake for two-year-old filly trotters and three divisions in the $300,900 USD International Stallion Stake for two-year-old colt pacers.
On Sunday (Oct. 6), The Red Mile will offer the $500,000 USD Kentucky Futurity for three-year-old trotters, the companion $301,550 USD Kentucky Filly Futurity for three-year-old filly trotters, two divisions in the $422,000 USD Tattersalls Pace for three-year-old colt pacers, two divisions in the $233,000 USD Glen Garnsey Memorial for three-year-old filly pacers, the $159,000 USD Allerage for open pacers, the $153,000 USD Allerage for open trotters, the $69,500 USD Allerage for older trotting mares and the $65,500 USD Allerage for older pacing mares.
Grand Circuit racing at Plainridge Park will take place on Monday (Oct. 7) with two divisions in the $99,660 USD Reynolds Memorial for three-year-old colt pacers, the $62,150 USD Reynolds Memorial for three-year-old filly pacers and the $53,150 USD Colonial Oaks for three-year-old filly trotters.
Last time: Twin B Joe Fresh and Jiggy Jog S headed to the stakes action on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Hollywood Dayton Raceway with top billing, and the sport’s two highest-ranked stars did not disappoint.
Twin B Joe Fresh won the $337,838 Dayton Distaff Derby for older female pacers by 4-1/2 lengths in a track record 1:48.3 over a surface labeled “good” one race after Jiggy Jog S captured the $337,838 Dayton Oaks for older female trotters by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:52.1.
Both mares were driven by Dexter Dunn, who swept the night’s four major stakes, adding the $337,838 Dayton Trotting Derby with Logan Park and the $337,838 Dayton Pacing Derby with Abuckabett Hanover. Dunn won six races total on the card. To read the full recap, click here.

Grand Circuit Standings: In 2024, the Grand Circuit leaders in three categories (driver, trainer and owner) will once again be tracked on a points system (20-10-5 for the top three finishers in divisions/finals and 10-5-2 for the top three finishers in eliminations/legs). Looking ahead: The next Grand Circuit action will take place in two weeks at Meadowlands Racetrack with Breeders Crown eliminations for two-year-olds, three-year-olds, and older trotters and pacers.
