The best two and three-year-old performers of the 2012 Atlantic Sires Stakes racing season will be showcased this weekend during the Atlantic Breeders Crown at Red Shores Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Atlantic Breeders Crown Weekend of Champions has become a premier event in Maritime harness racing and $130,000 in purse monies will be handed out to the weekend’s top performers.
The Weekend of Champions will feature the Atlantic Breeders Crown Pacing Finals and Trotting Invitationals on Sunday afternoon. The pacing Consolations will be contested on Saturday.
Other weekend events include the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale, a Women in Harness Racing Fan Seminar, and the Atlantic Breeders Crown banquet honouring a year of harness racing excellence. The banquet will also see four Atlantic Canadian families recognized for their longtime contributions to the harness racing industry.
First-race post time at Red Shores Charlottetown Driving Park on both Saturday and Sunday is 1:00 p.m.
