According to a report in the Decatur, Illinois’ Herald & Review, online gambling on horse racing could be legalized in the state as early as this week

The paper says the Illinois Racing Board is scheduled to consider giving three companies state licenses to handle online bets when it meets tomorrow, and if it does, online betting could be operational a day later.
Mickey Ezzo, the board’s spokesman, told the paper, “They’re ready to go. The infrastructure is all in place.”
Licensed companies could start advertising, but enforcement of regulating non-licensed states could be another, more difficult issue.
