Century Mile's live harness racing card scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 1 has been cancelled.
"Due to ongoing track conditions, live racing for this evening has been cancelled," said a statement from Century Mile posted on social media on Wednesday afternoon. "The health and safety of our horses and horsemen remain our top priority and our crews are working diligently to resolve the issues."
Century Mile had hosted one race on its meet-opening card this past Friday, Sept. 26 before cancelling the remainder of that card and the following card on Saturday, Oct. 27 due to the poor track conditions.
The next scheduled race card at the Edmonton, Alta. oval is Friday, Oct. 3 at 6:15 p.m. (MDT).
