Prominent standardbred owner/trainer/driver Don Brown passed away on Monday, January 24 at the age of

69.

Brown has raced in the western provinces for years while residing in Manitoba, but also was a regular campaigner on the Saskatchewan circuit.

He was strongly supported by his wife, Margaret, and grandson, Chris, and they recently purchased a farm just outside Wawanesa, Manitoba. Chris has become a trainer and is following along in the trade to soon be a driver, and together Don, Margaret and Chris have been a great team working with the horses for many years.

Don was a kind, well known, hardworking man that was liked by all and will be missed.

Friends and family will gather on Friday, January 28 at Millfred Cemetery in Wawanesa at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.

Please join the Saskatchewan Standardbred Horsemen's Association along with the Manitoba horsemen and Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the friends and family of Don Brown.
