Western Fair Card A 'Go'

Published: January 26, 2010 11:05 am EST

After being forced to cancel yesterday’s card of racing due to unseasonable weather conditions, Western Fair Raceway’s card for today will go postward as scheduled

.

Today’s 12-race card will get underway at 3:35 p.m.

A pair of horses with two race winning streaks on the line will square off in the third race, a $7,000 conditioned pace.

Jiffyson, a six-year-old Village Jiffy gelding, has won both of his 2010 starts so far in this class at the London half-miler.

Owned by breeder Duane Lamb of Goderich, Ont., Jiffyson has won five of his last six races at Western Fair over the past three months. His only start that wasn’t a victory during that period was a close second-place finish. Jiffyson will start from Post 3 in today’s third race with his regular driver Trevor Henry at the lines.

Also riding a two race winning streak coming into today’s third race is Justalittleluck who will leave from Post 8 with Nick Steward at the controls. The four-year-old Northern Luck gelding is owned by breeder Martin O’Toole of London, Ont. Justalittleluck’s dam is Sunnie Corleone who raced with regularity at Western Fair a few years ago.
