The 2020 Virtual O’Brien Awards Gala takes place on Sunday, January 31, 2021 and will be available for viewing on standardbredcanada.ca from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. (EST)
For our members and guests who would normally attend and use the cocktail hour to congratulate a finalist or wish them good luck, that can’t happen in person this year, so we have another option for you.
SC will assemble a collection of prerecorded messages in a montage that will be shown on standardbredcanada.ca a few days in advance of the Awards and from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on January 31, to lead into the awards show. The Video Greetings Reel is sponsored by The Hambletonian Society.
We are looking for video messages that congratulate or wish the finalists good luck, similar to some of the videos we featured in last year’s Hallmark Greetings Video Collection.
This is an opportunity for SC members and fans to share their best wishes and good luck greetings with the harness racing community who will be watching the O’Brien Awards on January 31. The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 15, 2021.
Here’s how to record your video greeting:

Record the video horizontally on your smartphone or iPad

Make sure you have a quiet spot to record your video with proper lighting and no background noise.

Please keep the videos to 45 seconds maximum.

Play your video before you send it to make sure it sounds and looks OK.
