Oyonnax and driver Sebastian Ernault emerged from the pack of 18 in the stretch and swept past defending champion Meaulnes du Corta for a 172-1 surprise in the 89th edition of the $1.48 million Prix d'Amérique Marionnaud at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes on Sunday

Race favourite Meaulnes du Corta and Pierre Levesque touched down on the front during the early stages of the 2,700 m race with Oyonnax spotted third over in the middle of the pack.
Heading around the final turn, Oyonnax emerged on the outside and swept past the defending champion. He edged out a hard closing Quaker Jet (Pierre Vercruysse) for the victory while Meaulnes du Corta finished third.
