It was a case of starting strong and finishing strong at Flamboro Downs on Thursday for driver J.R. Plante, who finished the card with five wins.

Plante crossed the line second with Sauble Dewy (TDIS) in today’s first race, but was awarded the win as a result of a disqualification.

Rights Adviser (1:56.2) and Suntan Place (2:00.1) gave him back-to-back scores in Races 4 and 5, and he swept the Late Double in Races 11 and 12 with Swanee (1:58.2) and Maxwells Gold (1:56.1).

The five-win performance bumped Plante’s 2008 win total to 211, while his overall total climbed to 617. This year marks the first time the resident of Burlington, ON has surpassed the $1 million mark in earnings.
