Jean-Marc Gingras Passes

Horseman Jean-Marc Gingras, grandfather to driver Yannick Gingras, passed away the evening of Thursday, September 25 after a short bout with cancer. He was 78.

The father of trainer-driver Raymond Gingras, Jean-Marc Gingras competed at racetracks in Quebec and United States during the 1950s and '60s. He had also captured the drivers' championship at the now-defunct Richelieu Park in Montreal several times.

Jean-Marc is survived by his wife, Carmelle Desjardins, his sons Raymond, Claude, Marc, Martin and his daughters Johanne and Linda.
