On Saturday, October 4, Hanover Raceway and area horsepeople raised close to $4,000 for former Hanover blacksmith Gene Girodat, who was recuperating from a quadruple heart bypass operation on August 22.
"I'd like to thank all my horseman friends for all their kindness and generosity," Girodat told Trot Insider. "Special thanks to Peter Clements, Mark Etsell and Charlie Ward for organizing the raffle held October 4th at Hanover Raceway.
"Thanks to Gord Duggan for his efforts at the horseman golf tournament. Everyone has been so supportive it has meant so much to me."
