Gord Brown only had a single victory on Sunday's 15-race program at Rideau Carleton Raceway, but it was an important one for the sulky sitter.
The resident of Newcastle, Ontario triumphed in Race 9 with pacer Armbro Broadway, and that lone victory bumped his lifetime win total to 2,500.
Fittingly, he celebrated the victory with a pacer trained by Mark Winacott. The Brown/Winacott duo has proved to be one of the most dynamic trainer/driver duos to race at a variety of Ontario's B-circuit tracks.
Brown enjoyed his first $2-million season in 2007, and he's in the midst of his fourth consecutive $1-million season. His lifetime earnings surpassed the $10-million mark earlier this season.
Driver John MacDonald and trainer Sebastien Giroux also enjoyed a very profitable Sunday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
MacDonald reined in five winners, with three of them hailing from the stable of trainer Giroux.
They joined forces to win the opener with Ride The Bus, and they made their way back to victory lane with Polish Pianist in Race 3. A score in Race 5 with Real Courtesy completed the three-bagger.
MacDonald also nabbed wins with the Luc Loyer-trained President Pro Tem in Race 10 and Ambers Punch, a pacer from his own stable, in Race 13.
