Brewer, Wholly Louy Shine At Woodstock

Driver Jason Brewer and four-year-old gelding Wholly Louy were the stars of Saturday afternoon's card at Woodstock Raceway with Brewer notching his 2,000th career win and Wholly Louy picking up another victory in the $20,000 Preferred Pace.

Brewer surpassed the 2,000 win plateau after scoring a handful of wins on the 12-race card.

The Ohio native started the afternoon needing four wins to reach the milestone. After scoring with Dalona Killean (2:00.2) in the card's opener, Brewer picked up a pair of wire-to-wire victories in race six and seven with Aces Express (2:00.3) and A Hay Luva Paige (2:00.4). The hot-handed driver notched his 2,000th win aboard Camemorative Year in race 10 (1:56.4). But he didn't stop there, following up with another victory in rein to Twin B Sporty (2:01.3) in the 11th race.

Since relocating to Ontario in 2004, the 30-year-old reinsman has climbed the ranks on the WEG circuit placing 10th in the drivers' standings. This season, Brewer has picked up 172 wins and over $2.2 million in purses.

Wholly Louy also had an impressive afternoon picking up yet another triumph in the the $20,000 Preferred Pace for trainer Casie Coleman.

Driven by Brad Watt, the son of Camluck took to the front right off the gate posting a 27.3 opening quarter before pulling away from the field by three lengths through panels of 55.1 and 1:24.1. Leading by four lengths at the top of the stretch, Wholly Louy paced home for the win in 1:53.2.

Button Up (Mike Horner) finished back in second and Xlb Patrick (Jason Brewer) rounded out the top three.

Wholly Louy sports a record of eight wins and three seconds in 12 starts earning over $80,000 this year. He has earned a total of $208,942 for owner Robert Hamather of Exeter, Ont.
